Jahangir Tareen calls on Shujat Hussain, Parvez Elahi

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leaders Jahangir Tareen, Abdul Aleem Khan, Ishaq Khakwani and Ch Zaheeruddin called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former prime minister Ch Shujat Hussain and senior central leader and former Chief Minister Punjab Ch Parvez Elahi at their residence here on Sunday.


MNA-elect Tariq Bashir Cheema, Mian Imran Masood and Salim Baryaar were also present on this occasion. Leaders of both the parties exchanged views about the election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker and challenges to be faced in future.
Talking to the media, Jahangir Tareen said that he has come to express gratitude to the PML leaders for their support to PTI in the Centre and in the province.

He said that Elahi did the best government and undertook ideal works in the Punjab, Shehbaz Sharif had virtually destroyed the province in 10 years, now we have to bring improvement in all projects and sectors.
He also said that Shehbaz Sharif had closed the projects with plaques of Elahi name, whereas the works which had been undertaken by Elahi, between 2002 to 2007, had not been done till now, we will bring about new local bodies system in the Punjab and audit every institution.

Talking to the media, Elahi said that during the meeting, views were exchanged regarding situation in future. “We discussed about the local bodies and there was consensus to bring about new local bodies system, Jahangir Tareen, Cheema and ourselves are linked with local bodies since 1983,” he said.

“Shehbaz Sharif has destroyed local bodies system very badly, but under new system, we will launch several projects in the province to help it come out of bankruptcy,” the PML leader added.

He further said that PML-N caused devastation at every level in health and hospitals, and the party’s intention are to improve the circumstances in the province. “After securing the speakership my target will be to work for the welfare of the country and the common man,” he said.
