ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Sunday lauded Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi’s decision to resign from the office of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly and said that this would augur well for democracy and would go a long way in further strengthening democratic institutions in the country. In a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s House, Gilani said that the Pakistan People’s Party believes in the politics of tolerance and would continue its reconciliation efforts to take along all the political parties on all issues of national importance.
