The PML-Q has decided to stay neutral in a power battle between the PPP and the PML-N in the Punjab. The PML-Q held its executive council meeting in Lahore to discuss the ongoing political scenario in the province, particularly after the imposition of governor’s rule. The meeting was chaired by PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain.
Ch. Pervaiz Elahi, Farooq Leghari, Moonis Elahi, Ejaz ul Haq, Gohar Ayub, Khurshid Kasuri, Saleem Saifullah, Ghaus Baksh Mehar, Nasrullah Drashek, Hamid Nasir Chattha and Kamil Ali Agha also attended the meeting.
The meeting discussed in detail the ongoing political show-off between the PML-N and the PPP in the Punjab and its future repercussions. The PML-Q leadership observed that the two political parties were in a coalition before the disqualification of the Sharif brothers and they might join hands in future. The party leadership was of the opinion that the PML-Q should remain neutral instead of siding with any particular political party. They further decided that they should let the Punjab governor do whatever he was doing, as they were not part to any game.
